Reviews
The food is great and the place is really nice, but the music is sooooo loud!!!!! There is no way to enjoy a dinner with family or friends because there is no way to have a conversation with the people you are with. Just to place a food order on the phone I have to shout the order because the waiter couldn’t hear me. I understand is a restaurant bar but unless you don’t have a live show in there is really no need for the music to be so so loud. It give you a headache after you leave.
That’s why I order online must of the time now. Would love to be in the restaurant but is hard to have a conversation plus we leave with a sore throat from screaming to each other.
Something to think about and easy to fix.
We arrived at Raices Colombian as the waiter, a young man, a very polite and professional offer to check the menu. We really wanted to have breakfast, but it was not breakfast. The vegetable soup was fine and the main course was as well. No complaints.
Music is way to damn loud. Waiter got our orders wrong multiple times because they can’t hear people speaking. Food was cold service was horrible and expensive for no reason
the atmosphere was nice, the food not so much. i started to feel sick over the course of the meal and was ill by the time i got home.
the beef empanada fillings were very mushy, with the meat not well-grounded because there was a large piece of fat in one of them.
the ceviche de chicarron was okay, i wish they had given the option not to soak the crispy meat in marinade, which made them very sour and soggy.
the chorizo arepa was okay, tho i was expecting something bigger than an oreo-sized arepa.
I ordered the arroz con Pollo. Was decent. Seafood ceviche was fine. The mojitos were weak. They do virgin Pina collado well though, for the kids. Friends ordered the fried pork in two different dishes. One was as expected, the other was overly salty - everyone at the table agreed. When my friend complained to one server who asked how things were, the response she got back was, sorry about that. When she complained to a different server who asked the same, he admitted that another customer had said the same and that he would make things right - he took 25% off the price of the dish. Mind you, it was virtually untouched. Didn't feel that was the best customer service. Upon reading others' reviews about the drinks, I'd be reluctant to return.
I've been here only twice because of the pandemic, and both times have been great. The food is delicious and the drinks are great. Just looking at the pics as I post them has me craving food from here again.
Food was so Good it made my tastebuds 🕺 with the first bite, waitress is friendly and accommodating. Will definitely visit again. Decor is very nice. Especially for large crowds. …
Excellent service and amazing Colombian food! I think the best in New York, very nice big menu with all the traditional dishes but they are served in another level. I went with some friend and was a great experience, the drinks were very good as well. I’d recommend the Posta cartagenera 100% and thanks to our waitress, she is a very exact representative of the kindness in Colombia!
